Spotlight on Kenny

Congratulations to Kenny Utley Jr., welder/fabricator, for earning the March 2023 Employee Spotlight.

Caleb Rugg, manufacturing manager, says, “Kenny is my Swiss army knife. I can throw him on any project or type of work in the shop and he will rise to the occasion to get it done no matter how difficult or challenging it is. He takes great pride in his work and it shows in the quality of the finished product. I’m proud to have Kenny on the team and I look forward to continuing to be able to push him with difficult projects and watch him grow his skills and responsibilities here at Mark III.”

Thank you for your commitment to Mark III, Kenny!

Interview

What is your favorite Mark III core value (teamwork, innovation, integrity, work-hard-play-hard, transparency) and how does it play a part in your everyday role & responsibilities?

I would say integrity is my favorite core value because it involves two more of the core values as well. I feel like it takes integrity to be a team player and also to communicate between all aspects of the company. I would say I try to be anywhere I can be to help when I’m at the shop whether that is helping in plumbing, hvac or getting out to the field and delivering fab to site when necessary. I take pride in everything I build.

How has Mark III helped you in your career development?

Without Mark III I would not have developed the skills, relationships and opportunities. I still strive to learn more about each trade to become a more well-rounded and valuable team player

What are your hobbies outside of work?

Outside of work I honestly just go home and continue to build stuff. From dog houses/mansions, chicken coops and other enclosures also outdoor furniture and garden fountains. I love music and still play my drums and ride mountain bike occasionally. Also a big craft beer lover.

Favorite book, movie, music?

For music, I really enjoy just about everything except today’s rap haha Books??? What are books? Movies, I love comedies like horrible bosses and action movies like American Sniper. Scary movies are also a good choice.
