Spotlight on Lenny

Congratulations to Lenny Petersen Jr., journeyman electrician, for earning the September 2022 Employee Spotlight.

Scott Welch, electrical superintendent, says, “Lenny has been a huge asset to our project in the Bay Area. I would have to nominate him for teamwork and transparency. Lenny has managed to keep the customer happy through a tough schedule and deadlines.  We appreciate all his hard work communicating with the team to bring the project in on time.”

Thank you for your commitment to Mark III, Lenny!

Interview

What is your favorite Mark III core value (teamwork, innovation, integrity, work-hard-play-hard, transparency) and how does it play a part in your everyday role & responsibilities?

It is a toss-up between teamwork and work-hard-play-hard. These core values have been important to the team on every job I have been on. I have an incredible team surrounding me and I’m able to succeed because of my teammates and the teamwork mentality we share. Work-hard play-hard is important too! The crew and I are down to grab a beer after work or go to a concert. I went to a System of the Down and Corn concert earlier this year with Nate, Pat, and Jerome and I am going to see Alice In Chains with EY aN, Nate, and Jerome in a few weeks.

How has Mark III helped you in your career development?

Mark III sponsored me through my WECA apprenticeship and I graduated in 2020. I am constantly challenged to step up and take on new tasks to better myself and my team. I am now co-foreman with Jay Drennan for a 6-story building we are working on in the Bay Area.

What is your proudest moment at Mark III?

My proudest moment is working with my team on my current project. I am proud that we have been able to keep up with such a fast-paced project while keeping morale high. This can be hard to do sometimes, but everyone brings something great to the table to make us all better.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

Outside of work I like to camp, go to the shooting range, take my boat out, go to concerts, and spend time with my kids.
