Congratulations to Travis Cloyd, plumbing trainee, for earning the January 2022 Employee Spotlight.
Caleb Rugg, manufacturing facility manager, says, “anyone who has met Travis likes him. Everyday he shows up with a smile on his face and ready to work hard. He is always willing to go the extra mile to help out the team around him whether it’s staying late to wrap something up or helping a fellow employee with their task. He’s transparent almost to a fault, he will tell you exactly where he’s at on the work order and let you know if he feels like he’s not as far as he should be. Travis is a man of high integrity and someone I’m proud to have on my team. Keep doing what your doing Travis and you’ll have a bright future ahead of you.”

Interview
What is your favorite Mark III core value (teamwork, innovation, integrity, work-hard-play-hard, transparency) and how does it play a part in your everyday role & responsibilities?
I have always been goal oriented. In order to achieve my goals, I work to my fullest potential and with everyone working hard within the team we can meet all our goals. After working hard all week you need work-hard-play-hard too by doing different fun activities outside of work.
How do our core values play into your everyday role & responsibilities?
Mark III’s core values are used every day at work no matter what it is that you are doing. Taking the extra time to make sure work is done properly and in the right fashion is important to be successful in many different scenarios.
How has Mark III helped you in your career development?
I came to Mark III not knowing much about the construction industry. I have done a lot of woodworking and taxidermy but nothing to this scale. When I was hired Caleb, Jason, and Joe, along with many other people in the shop, took the time to teach me and work with me so I not only knew the how but also the why behind each task.
What is your proudest moment at Mark III?
I do not have a particular moment that I am most proud of but with every day that passes working for the company and learning everything that I can makes me very proud. I really am proud that Mark III has given me the knowledge not only while at work but outside of work as well. It is also important to me to pass down my knowledge to other people as well.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I have a passion and a true love for the outdoors. I have been in the outdoors hunting and fishing since I can remember. I hunt here in California as well as out of state for elk, deer, and any big game.
What is your favorite movie?
I have many favorite movies but my favorite movies are the John Wayne movies and the two that I really like are Big Jake and The Searchers. When it comes to music I really only listen to country.
