Spotlight on Josh

Congratulations to Josh Stoddard, Mark III mechanical HVAC foreman for earning the December 2019 Employee Spotlight!

Ryan Fish, mechanical division manager says, “I could tell that Josh was going to advance himself within this company from when I first met him in 2016. At the time we were working on a very small project for a high school, but I saw the potential in him to be running large, complex projects for Mark III one day. Josh was organized, a great communicator, a team player, and above all, he had a very calm and positive disposition. Fast forward 3 years, Josh is now a foreman running over $5 million in very complex OSHPD work at UC Davis Medical Center. I’ve really enjoyed watching Josh develop into a great foreman and take the role by the horns. Thank you Josh for your commitment and all you’ve contributed to Mark III.”

We are lucky to have you on the team, Josh!

Interview

What is your favorite Mark III core value (teamwork, innovation, integrity, work-hard-play-hard, transparency), and why?

My favorite core values are teamwork and work-hard-play-hard.

How do our core values play into your everyday role & responsibilities?

Teamwork is important because without a strong team it can be hard to achieve goals set for the job. A great leadman and crew are also important for the type of work we are doing, and I am fortunate to have that. You can’t forget about work-hard-play-hard. After a hard work week it’s nice to get away and relive some stress by spending time with family, gold mining, or fishing.

What is your proudest moment at Mark III?

My proudest moment at Mark III was when I got hired on. I know I was joining a great company with family values. After 4 years here I can say this is true, and there’s always work to do. Thank you Mark III!

What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?

My favorite project would have to be UC Davis Med Center 2nd Floor Renovations because it has been the most challenging project I’ve worked on and I have learned a lot.
