Spotlight on Moises
Congratulations to Moises Castillo, ABC NorCal Electrical Apprentice, for earning the December 2023 Employee Spotlight.
Scott Welch, Electrical Superintendent, says, “I have worked with Moises for the past four years and recently started a project with him at Chico State University. Moises has shown so much improvement, he’s increased his desire to become a leader and developed into a solid role model at M3. He’s also completed his five-year apprenticeship at ABC. Moises has integrity, passion, drive, and dedication to his job. We are lucky to have him on our team.”

Interview
What is your favorite M3 core value (teamwork, continuous improvement, integrity, perseverance, excellence), and how does it play a part in your everyday role & responsibilities?
I have a mixture of a few I’d like to say, I can say continuous improvement and integrity are core values I live by every day. I’m constantly looking for ways to improve aspects of my everyday life, whether that be on the job site, or at home. I try to find better, more efficient ways for my team to produce, and there’s a constant reminder in my head to do everything with integrity. A strong morale is my idea of a good foundation for great work.
How do our core values play into your everyday role/responsibilities?
Teamwork and continuous improvement are huge in my day-to-day work and responsibilities. A perfect example can be working with the field on what went wrong, what needs to be done to address the issue, and what can be improved going forward.
How has M3 helped you in your career development?
I started with M3 when I was only a second-year apprentice. I believe this company has allowed me to help me grow in all aspects. The guys I’ve worked with have allowed me to gain new knowledge to better my craft and also helped me understand what it’s like to work with a great team. Teamwork and leadership are tools that M3 has helped me sharpen. I’d like to think that this new opportunity, the ability to trust me with running and overseeing a job site, shows the development I’ve had with this company is paying off, and I can’t wait to see what my future in this company holds.
What is your proudest moment at M3?
I’m living in my proudest moment, don’t get me wrong, the countless hours that we’ve put in to make a deadline or the push to keep producing quality work is something everybody should be proud of but I’d like to say my newfound responsibility and the workload that comes with being a foreman and just the trust M3 has in me for me to represent the company is something I’m very proud of. I’m proud of the effort I put in every day to show everyone who we are and what this company is made of and the amount of great things people who strive for success can do.
