This OSHPD Level 1 certified project involved the installation of a 2000-ton centrifugal chiller, controls, multiple water pumps, and associated piping. It also included the expansion of a 4.1 KV electrical system in an existing central plant that was the utility source for the UC Davis Medical Center. The major portion of the project was installing a new 1200 amp 5 KV switchgear into an existing system with no downtime, the plant and hospital had to remain operational during all times during construction.
