Mark III’s HVAC scope for Marengo Ranch Elementary School included the removal and replacement of (9) rooftop package units. The Mark III team also installed new insulation inside the roof curbs and modified the ductwork in building B. The team completed the installation of new direct digital controls (DDC) for new units and the integration of the existing IBEX system for other units; Mark III also handled the start-up of all newly installed units. The HVAC scope started with (4) new roof top units (RTU), but the district was able to add an additional (5) units to the scope due to additional funds. Mark III met the Skilled & Trained Workforce (“STW”) requirements for this project.

The plumbing scope included safe off gas, condensation, and reconnection of (9) rooftop units. The Mark III team furnished and installed (1) new water heater, china lavatories, faucets, water closets and flush valves. The scope also included the removal and reinstallation of the existing mop sink and the installation of new domestic water, drain, waste, vent and roof drain piping. The Mark III team also hand excavated approximately 320 feet of trench on building H and installed (14) 4″ drains, connecting to (4) 4″ roof drains to the existing drain inlet.

The electrical scope included the installation of lighting fixtures and power to various wiring devices, the installation of power to (FBO) insta hot units, and the termination of existing power to new RTUs. The Mark III team also completed the installation of fire alarm and intrusion alarm systems. The team re-worked the power feed through panels and signal cabinets on the exterior of building H. Due to the firm deadline in order for students to return to school, the team worked closely with S&B James to strategically optimize the schedule, completing 6 months of work in just 3 months.
