Gallo Glass Compressed Air System

Location: Modesto, CA

Contractor: The Haskell Company

Trades: Mechanical, Process Piping

Contract Value: $4.1 million

This project was an upgrade to a compressed air system in support of Gallo Glass, the largest glass plant in North America. Mark III expanded the compressed air facility by adding (2) 30K gallon air-receiver tanks and (6) 2,300 HP air compressors with associated equipment components. The upgrade also required a new cooling-tower yard to circulate 15K gallons of cooling water to the new air compressors. The yard consisted of (3) cooling towers, (8) pumps, and (3) plate heat exchangers. Mark III provided around the clock manpower to install all of the interconnecting, welded stainless steel compressed air piping (up to 20” pipe) and the Victaulic cooling water system to complete this project within its aggressive five-month build schedule.
