Microgrid and Phase I

Serving as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, Mark III executed this design-build project in two phases. The project scope included the construction and installation of (3) 2,500 kW natural gas fueled, prime power generators in the present stand-by power plant along with the removal of (2) existing diesel stand-by generators. Mark III handled the removal and replacement of generators, exhaust, and radiators with some roofing, structural mods, and piping work.

This project was contracted directly with HOLT of California.  Mark III’s electrical team installed all conduits, feeders, VFD’s, grounding, and switchgear to connect the owner provided generators to the gear at the central utility plant. The project also included installation of medium voltage cable, medium voltage terminations, and ventilation controls for a complete and operational system.

Phase II

Upon completion of bringing the three new generators online, Mark III moved to phase II of the project which included additional design efforts with LP Consulting Engineers. Mark III completed demo and install of the final (2) 2,500 kW natural gas fueled, prime power generators with all associated mechanical duct and piping scope
