Downtown Sacramento Hall of Justice – HVAC Upgrades

Location: Sacramento, CA

Client: Superior Court of California

Trades: Mechanical

Contract Value: $482  K

Mark III’s project scope included the removal and replacement of (4) roof top HVAC units for a Sacramento Historic Building on 6th & H Streets. The Mark III team also upgraded the building management system (BMS) with a Tracer SC+ controls system. The upgraded units totaled 110 tons of cooling for the four story historic building. Due to the buildings location in downtown Sacramento, Mark III partnered with Traffic Management Inc. and the City of Sacramento to shut down 6th Street to allow for equipment staging and the 175 ton crane required to complete the unit replacements. The road closure was planned for two days, but due to effective planning by the Mark III service leadership team, the road closure and crane time was limited to 8 hours. This reduced impact on the building tenants and surrounding area. Due to the limited space on 6th Street, each unit was delivered to site and installed in a strategic planned schedule by a truck located 20 minutes away from the historic building. This just-in-time delivery allowed for efficient installation.
