Mark III provided plumbing services for the new construction and modernization of John Barrett Middle School in Carmichael, CA. The modernization portion of this project consisted of converting an existing 9,000 SF classroom into an administration/office building and renovating (8) existing classrooms and a multi-purpose building. Mark III met the Skilled & Trained Workforce (“STW”) requirements for this project.

The plumbing scope included over 100 fixtures, kitchen equipment connections, and over 3400′ of piping. Systems included condensate, domestic water, natural gas, storm, drain/waste/vent (DWV), and grease waste.

The new construction portion of this project included a new 36,000 SF gymnasium and 38,000 SF science building. Mark III provided BIM modeling and prefabrication of all plumbing systems, including over 8,500 feet of pipe. The plumbing scope included full ground-up plumbing installation with over 200 fixtures. Systems included acid waste, condensates, domestic water, natural gas, storm, and complete DWV.

The challenging part of the project was performing all the work around an active school. To combat this, prefabrication and BIM modeling allowed Mark III’s crews to move a portion of the build offsite, minimizing on-site disruptions.
