Spotlight on Brittany

Congratulations to Brittany Van Goor, payroll assistant, for earning the August 2020 Employee Spotlight!

Cindy Frost, payroll manager, says, “Brittany has worked for me for 3 years. Teamwork is the core value I would use to describe her. Every task that I give her she completes without hesitation and she will jump in and help any team member when asked. She works with the field team daily getting their time into About Time which is a very thankless job! I appreciate Brittany’s positive attitude and I am very proud to work with her and have her on our Mark III team! Congrats Brittany, Mark III is lucky to have you.”

Thank you for your commitment to Mark III, Brittany!

What is your favorite Mark III core value (teamwork, innovation, integrity, work-hard-play-hard, transparency) and how does it play a part in your everyday role & responsibilities?

My favorite core value is transparency. I believe that it’s the foundation to all the other core values. Having open and honest communication leads to better problem solving, new ideas, and better comradery with the people you work with. If there’s no transparency, nothing gets done!

How do our core values play into your everyday role & responsibilities?

With my role, I’m constantly helping both the field and the office with a variety of different things. That requires being confident and honest in my work, communicating effectively, and a lot of teamwork. It’s never in the forefront of my mind, but I end up practicing our core values every day.

How has Mark III helped you in your career development?

Mark III has jump-started my career and has given me the opportunity to learn and understand different aspects of business. There are a lot of experienced and knowledgeable people here, so I try to learn as much as I can from them.

What is your proudest moment at Mark III?

My biggest highlight was when I was tasked with creating a safety training video for Mark III. It was a large project that took a lot of time and energy, but I came out of the project gaining so much knowledge and experience that I would not trade for anything. And now Mark III has a safety video! It was a great win-win situation.

What do you do outside of work?

I really enjoy doing nature and urban photography when I can and I’m slowing starting to become a craft beer snob. I also like playing video games, cooking, and spending time outdoors.

Do you have a favorite book, movie, or music genre?

One of my favorite movies is Rebel Without A Cause.  In terms of music I like pretty much anything within the punk and post-hardcore/metal-core scene. My music tastes haven’t evolved since I was 16 haha.
